Hugo Rouille

By Tom Phillips

It is with profound sadness we bid farewell to a kind human being, true warrior and a talented sportsman.

It is with profound sadness we bid farewell to a kind human being, true warrior and a talented sportsman Hugo Rouille who was tragically taken away from us in the morning of March 26 in Hong Kong. He was a pivotal player in the Tempest team which dominated their division for two years in a row, readily stepping up to play in whichever role the team needed. Not only did he have a devastating side-step which allowed him to play anywhere in the backline but also a hefty boot which was called upon often to convert crucial penalties. His ever smiling presence and helpful nature was felt across the board by members during the brief time that he played for the club. He found time for other sporting pursuits as well, training for ultrathons and trekking in the Himalayas having recently been to Nepal, a country he loved and which he captured so well on camera. Gone too soon - you achieved so much in such little time. Rest in Peace brother.
